At Tulcan Energy, we recognize the importance of understanding the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) issues that matter most to our business and stakeholders. That's why we conduct a comprehensive materiality assessment every year to identify key ESG issues and inform our strategic decision-making process.
Assessing Stakeholder Concerns: Our materiality assessment involves engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders, both internal and external, to gain insights into their perspectives and concerns.
This includes discussions with our ultimate shareholders, bondholders, non-governmental organizations, partners, and government officials. For instance, in May 2022, we organized an ESG roadshow with our bondholders, where we delved into the complexities of the 'energy trilemma' and the challenges of balancing energy security, affordability, and sustainability in the face of evolving macro events.
In addition to stakeholder engagement, we closely analyze upcoming regulations and sustainability frameworks to ensure alignment with evolving industry standards and best practices. This allows us to anticipate regulatory changes and proactively address emerging ESG issues.
Following thorough analysis and stakeholder engagement, we prioritize ESG issues based on their impact on our business and the level of stakeholder concern. Our ESG strategy and Annual Report reflect these prioritized issues, providing transparency and accountability to our stakeholders. Additionally, we publish supplementary data, such as air emissions and waste management metrics, to further enhance transparency and disclosure.
